Despite a well-fought game, late free throws from Cherokee prove to be the difference in the 58-52 loss for River Ridge.
Another slow start in the first half had the Knights trailing by six after two quarters of play. The Knights came out ready to play in the third quarter and cut the Warrior lead to three after three quarters of play. Trailing by only three points with just under a minute remaining, River Ridge was called for an intentional foul after the Cherokee player made the basket. Cherokee proceeded to make the two ensuing free throws, and then hit two more free throws after being fouled again. After it was all said and done, this pivotal possession ended with six points for the Warriors, which proved to be a challenge too steep for the Knights to fight back.
